Starbucks Coconut Milk vs. Almond Milk
Options are amazing, they allow us to make choices. You have the power to make every choice in your life. From how you react to certain situations to what you put in your morning coffee. It's great to see Starbucks and other coffee shops add non dairy options to the menu but here are some facts about the options that are available.
Coconut Milk Ingredients: Water, coconut cream, cane sugar, tricalcium phosphate, coconut water concentrate, natural flavors, sea salt, carrageenan, gellan gum, corn dextrin, xanthan gum, guar gum, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin d2.
Almond Milk Ingredients: almond milk (filtered water, almonds), sugar, tricalcium phosphate, sunflower lecithin, sea salt, xanthan gum, guar gum, vitamin A palmitate, and vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol).
In all truth, both aren't great options. Can we eliminate this from Starbucks orders? The fact that the Coconut Milk has corn dextrin, and that the Almond Milk has sugar make neither a recipe for our goals! They're still better options than cows milk when we get into overall health, but I prefer black coffee for optimal benefits. Black coffee maintains the antioxidants that are important to our overall health.
